DVDRW drive shows up as CD Drive?

In My Computer my TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H552L drive shows up as a CD drive and as a result, I cannot burn a DVD in another program.

take a look on the side of the drive and see if it says cd/dvdrw. if it does then it should burn dvds.

you can also check the following way by doing: right click on my computer %26gt; click properties %26gt; click device manager and look at what it says for your drive. if it says cd/dvd then youre not able to burn dvds. if it does say cd/dvdrw then you can and you might need to reinstall the proper recognition drivers that you can get from the manufactures website.

If you do a Google search you will find out that a lot of people have had a lot of driver problems with them.

You need check or the driver, for your model and reinstall it, it should be on the driver CD you got with your PC

You can go to your device manager in windows and UN INSTALL the drive, Do NOT DISABLE IT.

Restart you PC and it will reinstall the driver windows has for it or the one that is supossed to be on it. It could just be glitched and that will fix it.

If it does not fix the problem, or it asks you for the disc put in your disc and install the driver for it, and that should fix it.

If you do not have a driver disk or do not have the driver first, i would find it on the net and download it first. and run it if its in .exe form, or unzip it to a folder so if it asks for the driver location you can point it in that direction, and it will install it.

Also check your properties of it and Check and make sure the drive is in DMA mode and not PIO mode.
