My computer shows the internet cable unplugged, but it is plugged . so what can be the problem?

my computer shows the internet cable unplugged, but the cable cable is plugged instead, what is the matter i dont know exactly.

it may be the problem of lan card or the line problem

My computer shows the internet cable unplugged, but it is plugged . so what can be the problem?oper

Also, dont forget, it could be as simple as the internet being down on the isp side, or the modem needing the be reset.

Reset the modem, many have a reset button that needs to be pressed, or held down for 10 seconds or so. Others need to be unplugged for 30 seconds to a minute. Also, do the same with the router or hub, but do the modem first.

Hope this helps.

Check other end of cable which connected with HUB or SWITCH. If that is OK, then have problem with your NIC card. Change that.
Possibly a bad cable. Exchange it for a known good cable. If it still shows unplugged then it could be the router/hub or ethernet/nic card.
its a short in the wiring..
It really IS plugged. Otherwise, u won't have been asking q here.
Re install the software of internet connectoin providor
first ,yeh it may be a problem in the lan card or the line problem , secondly it might be a problem from the place u got the internet cable from, it might be disconected from the network hap
i faced wid this prob too.in my case it was the prob of my LAN card.it got loose ..pls try to attach it well again.
it may be the problem of the hub or socket

Do you have only one NIC (network interface card), or two?

In other words, are you able to get online? If you are, you can disable the NIC that shows the cable is unplugged.

If you do only have one NIC, try unplugging the cable from both devices, flip the cable around, and plug back into both devices. So now the end that was plugged into the pc, will be plugged into the ISP equipment, and vice versa.

While the cable is unplugged, inspect it to see if there are any signs of defects: kinks in the line, cuts/splits in wire, or loose connectors on the cable ends.

If the NIC still displays message that the cable is unplugged, try replacing cable with a brand-new cable.

And if that doesn't work, then uninstall %26amp; reinstall the NIC, by following these steps:

(Note: Only recommend doing the following procedure, if you have the original device drivers on a CD, that was provided by your computer's manufacturer.)

%26gt; Right-click on 'My Computer'

%26gt; Left-click on 'Manage'

%26gt; Left-click 'Device Manger' to show list of devices installed

%26gt; Left-click '+' for list of 'Network Adapters'

%26gt; Right-click on NIC and select 'Uninstall'

%26gt; Restart the computer

Windows XP will automatically launch "Add Hardware Wizard" to install any devices detected during bootup process.

If you are not using Windows XP, and the device is not automatically detected to have installed, you can do the following:

%26gt; Go to 'Control Panel' in the 'Start' menu

%26gt; Double-click 'Add New Hardware'

%26gt; Follow the prompts to install the NIC

Just follow the prompts, to reinstall the NIC, and you should be good to go. If not, you may need to have the NIC replaced with a new NIC.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.

Good luck!
